16 SEPT. 47 IMTFE WAR CRIMES TRIALS IN TOKYO: Mitsuteru Yokomizo, former secretary of the cabinet, testifies for the defense during War Crimes Trials of the 25 alleged major Japanese war criminals at the International Military Tribunal for the Far East in Tokyo, Japan. Hokomizo was a full-time secretary of the cabinet from May 1927 to July 1936, chief of the Intelligence Bureau from Sept. 1937. In February of 1940 he was appointed governor of Okayama Prefecture, and made governor of Kumamoto Prefecture in June 1942. He stayed at this post until August 1944 when he retired from politics.
